The benefits and introduction of contact lenses

2019/01/01

Contact lenses, as the name suggests, are in "invisible." It not only has the function of correcting eyesight by ordinary glasses, but also relieves the inconvenience caused by the frame glasses, so wearing contact lenses has become a fashion today. However, contact lenses are not suitable for all those who need to wear glasses. Who should not wear contact lenses?

However, there are some disadvantages too.People with colds often have a lot of germs on their hands, and they can easily enter the eyes when people take out and wear contact lenses. In addition, colds are often accompanied by mild retinal inflammation, and wearing contact lenses can exacerbate inflammation. Many cold, antitussive and analgesic drugs contain ingredients that inhibit tears. A decrease in the amount of tear secretion causes the contact lens to be too dry and less transparent, which in turn affects vision.

People with allergies can easily develop complications such as mild inflammation, itchy eyes, redness, conjunctivitis, and swelling of the eyes. If these conditions are not treated for a long time, it may endanger your eyesight. People with allergies who wear contact lenses should preferably use them only during the day and at least one day a week. If inflammation occurs, it is best to stop using it. If the inflammation has not been alleviated after 2 to 3 days, you should go to the hospital immediately.

Glaucoma, chronic dacryocystitis, conjunctivitis, corneal ulcer, hyperthyroidism and other diseases, if patients have been equipped with contact lenses, and the eyes are in the inflammatory phase, to be worn after the inflammation disappears.

In patients with fever, local eye resistance decreases, tear secretion decreases, and Bacillus subtilis multiplies, causing bacterial metabolites to deposit between the cornea and the lens, resulting in reduced oxygen permeability of the contact lens and normal metabolism of the cornea. Causes bacterial corneal ulcers.

After the middle-aged and elderly people reach the age of 40, there will be more obvious degenerative changes in the eye tissue. The local resistance of the eye is reduced, especially the ability of the eyeball to withstand hypoxia. At this time, if a thin lens is worn on the surface of the eyeball, it will cause hypoxia of the eyeball, which is prone to complications such as corneal infection and ulcer. Middle-aged people between the ages of 40 and 60 can wear contact lenses for a short period of time. It is best not to wear contact lenses for the elderly over the age of 60. Otherwise, serious complications may occur and permanent vision damage may occur.
